Strengthening the enforcement of labour standards

The UK’s labour market enforcement system is one of the weakest in Europe, with an inspector to worker ratio well below the ILO’s recommended one to 10,000.  When states fail to sufficiently enforce labour standards and workers’ rights, this creates an environment of impunity that can drive labour exploitation.

We work to build evidence of the impact of labour market enforcement gaps on risk of exploitation, and to develop practical solutions to level the playing field for both workers and responsible employers.
