Working Group on Women Workers

The Working Group on Women Workers is a ‘task and finish’ stakeholder group made up of academics, trade unions, legal experts, migrant community organisations, and other civil society actors.

The group is dedicated to understanding and addressing specific workplace risks and types of gender-related abuse that can put women workers at risk of exploitation.

In late 2020 to 2021, and prompted by Peer Researchers from cleaning and hospitality, the group developed a joint position paper highlighting the enforcement gap on sexual harassment rules and outlining practical recommendations to address it.

As part of this work, we responded to the Government’s call for evidence on its Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy 2021 to 2024 and have conducted joint advocacy activities with members of the group.
