New FLEX report on the risks of worker exploitation on the UK’s Seasonal Worker Scheme
This research report, written by FLEX is based on research conducted over 17 months in partnership with Rosmini, CASL and SEEAC.
The report is the first in a series of reports based on the data sample collected through outreach, interviews and surveys of more than 400 workers and is thought to be the largest independent study of the Seasonal Worker Scheme to date.
This first report looks specifically at recruitment related risks associated with the scheme and the risks of debt bondage and misinformation being fed to workers before their arrival in the UK.
Subsequent reports will look more closely at working and living conditions and the ability of workers changing employer once in the UK.
