The Labour Exploitation Advisory Group (LEAG) is a group of experts from nine organisations supporting people in, or at risk of, severe forms of labour exploitation such as human trafficking, forced labour and slavery. LEAG submitted a response to the Joint Committee on Human Rights (JCHR) inquiry on labour market exploitation and the Retained Law Bill, highlighting the current legal and policy framework for tackling exploitation in the UK, how the immigration system and criminalisation of irregular work increases risks of exploitation and the need for a preventative approach to tackling labour exploitation.
