Focus on Labour Exploitation (FLEX), together with other members of the Seasonal Worker Interest Group, have written to the House of Lords Horticultural Sector Committee to raise queries on aspects of the government response to the House of Lords Horticultural Sector Committee Report of Session 2022-23 asking the Committee to raise these with relevant stakeholders.

The government response to the Committee’s report, and resulting need for clarification, is another example of the ongoing confusion around responsibility for the scheme, for different aspects of monitoring, enforcement and accountability and around the entitlements of the workers who use the scheme to travel to the UK to support the horticultural industry.
