FLEX expresses sorrow at sudden death of Paul Broadbent, GLAA chief

December 30, 2017

Three days ago Paul Broadbent – CEO of the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority, a close friend and colleague to Focus on Labour Exploitation passed away. It is with great sorrow that FLEX hears this news, which represents a tragic and sudden loss not only to Paul’s family and friends but also to the anti-trafficking sector in the UK to which Paul dedicated so much time and attention.

Paul worked tirelessly to protect labour rights and showed great commitment to growing the work of the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority under his direction. Anyone who knew Paul knows that he was a wonderfully warm man, full of self-effacing humour, open, generous with his time and committed to his cause. We are hugely grateful to Paul for the time he gave FLEX and our work, for his significant contribution to efforts to prevent labour exploitation in the UK and above all for his friendship, we will miss him greatly. We extend our thoughts and well wishes to his family at this extremely difficult time.
